P. C. Chang
P. C. Chang (also: Peng-chun Chang, Zhang Pengjun) (1892 - 1957) was a Chinese professor, philosopher and playwright. He served as vice-chairman and Chinese delegate to the UN Commission on Human Rights in charge of drafting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Born in China, he received his higher education in the United States, at Columbia University. He returned to Nankai University in Tianjin and served there as professor. His philosophy is known to have a strong founding on the teachings of Confucius. On the drafting committee, he served both as an effective Asian delegate and also as a mediator when the negotations reached a stalemate.
