PedicellariaePedicellariae are commonly found on Echinoderms. They serve to keep the body surface clear of encrusting organisms. Each pedicellariae is composed of three forceps-like extensions which can pinch or cut of settling larvae. Pedicellariae are normally present around the base of a spine.
