Penalty kick (rugby)A penalty kick in rugby is awarded to a team for a infrigement of the rules made by the opposing team. The penalty kick takes the form of either a punt, a drop-kick or a place-kick, the team also has the option of taking a scrum. A goal may be scored from a penalty kick. If the player opts to play a place-kick then he must attempt to make a shot downfield or at goal, a player may not kick to touch from a place kick. See also |
