PERT ChartPERT (Program Evaluation and Review Technique) charts were first developed in the 1950s by the US Navy to help manage very large, complex projects (such as Polaris) with a high degree of intertask dependency. PERT charts often used in project management to identify the "critical chain", or the longest path through a project.
