Phobos

 

Phobos

  • In Greek mythology, Phobos is one of the sons of Ares (Mars) and Aphrodite (Venus). "Phobos" is Greek for "fear," the root word of "phobia".
  • Phobos is the largest and innermost of Mars' two moonss.
  • The Phobos program consisted of two unmanned probes, Phobos 1 and Phobos 2, sent to Mars by the Soviet Union.
