Pilgrim's Pride Corp.
Pilgrim's Pride Corp. is the second-largest poultry producer in the United States, headquartered in Pittsburg, Texas. Headed by company president O. B. Goolsby, Pilgrim's Pride had a minor outbreak of avian influenza in May 2004. Pilgrim's Pride is a supplier of Kentucky Fried Chicken and was named its "supplier of the year" in 1997. On 20 July 2004, PETA released a video claiming to show gross cruelty to chickens at Pilgrim's Pride. The company has said it will investigate the claims.
