Pilita Corrales

Pilita Corrales is a Filipino singer known as Asia's Queen of Songs. She recorded numerous albums in Spanish in the early 60s as well as two long playing albums in the 70s under the umbrella of the Vicor Music Corporation. She used to have a radio program in Spanish in the 60s at radio station DZRH and she used to sing Spanish songs in her TV program at ABS-CBN, An Evening with Pilita (1965-1972). Pilita used to be a usual guest performer on the now defunct Seeing Stars with Joe Quirino in Channel 13 after the martial law years promoting either Spanish, English, Visayan and Tagalog songs. Aquarius Record Philippines produced a compilation of Pilita's Spanish songs in CDs like Noche de Ronda, Vaya Con Dios. Her signature song "A Million Thanks to You " was translated to seven languages including Spanish. She even recorded Spanish songs composed by Filipino composers like Danny Holmsen, George Canseco among others. In her concert in Caesars Palace at Las Vegas during the 70s through the personal invitation of Sammy Davis Jr, Pilita sang Spanish, Cebuano and Tagalog songs.
