Pitbull (musician)

Pitbull (musician)

Cuban-American rapper Pitbull (born Armando Pérez) from Miami, the home of bass music, is notable for hit song, "Culo", which was produced by Lil Jon and The Diaz Brothers. Lil Jon also appears in the videoclip. Pitbull's latest song is "Toma". Both thematically and musically, Pitbull can be seen as a modern-day equivalent of earlier Miami rappers such as the 2 Live Crew and Afro-Rican. It was in fact former 2 Live Crew leader Luther Campbell who gave the up and coming rapper his first chance to shine. Pitbull sees crunk music as "nothin' but bass musix slowed down", according to allmusic.com. Apart from crunk, his album shows clear influences from both Miami bass and freestyle.
