PLD Linux Distribution

PLD Linux Distribution

PLD is a Linux distribution made mainly in Poland and by Poles,
however, it is intended for users from all over the world.

PLD is a free, RPM-based Linux distribution, aimed at the more advanced users and administrators, who accept the tradeoffs of using a system, that might require manual tweaking in exchange for much flexibility. Simultaneous support for a wide variety of architectures and non-conservative approach to RPM usage provides our users with a consistent environment on almost all available architectures.

History

PLD started in 1998 as a package repository for RedHat Linux. It soon grew enough, to become a self sustaining distribution and acts as one for the past couple of years. Currently it's one of the most active open source projects in the world and provides a constant flow of feedback to the rest of the FLOSS world.
