Poczet

Poczet

Poczet (fellowship or retinue) (plural Poczty) was the smallest organized unit of soldiers in Poland from the 15th until the 18th century.

In the cavalry, each poczet was commanded by a Towarzysz. Several Poczet's were combined to form larger units such as the Chorągiew, as in banner or Company.

The Poczet was the equivalent of the medieval lance, which was known in Poland as the Kopia.
