RateMyProfessors.com
RateMyProfessors.com (RMP) is a website, founded in May 1999 by John Swapceinski, a software engineer from Menlo Park, California, which allows college/university students to "grade" the professors of American and Canadian institutions. The site contains more than three million ratings, regarding more than 500,000 professors. The site was originally launched as TeacherRatings.com and converted to RateMyProfessors in 2001. Assistance is provided by college students all over the United States and Canada who help moderate the ratings and modify professor listings in order to ensure accuracy. RateMyProfessors sister site is RateMyTeachers.com, which rates high school and middle school teachers. This latter site contains more than seven million ratings, and over one million teachers and exists in the United States, Canada, the UK, and Ireland.
