Reference works of Jehovah's Witnesses=Encyclopedias=Insight on the Scriptures is a two volume alphabetized Bible encyclopedia produced by Jehovah's Witnesses. The combined volumes contain a total of 2,560 pages. The works contain full-color illustrations, graphs, charts, maps and other visual aids, as well as detailed analyses of all subjects found in the Bible. Subjects such as Trinity, Theology, and Apostolic Succession do not have their own headings as no direct mention of them is found in the Bible. The "Insight books" contain articles on every book of the Bible with an outline of each one's principal ideas. The first volume consists of 1,280 pages covering topics Aaron to Jehoshua. The second volume covers Jehovah through Zuzim and also consists of 1,280 pages. Reasoning From the Scriptures is a topical Bible encyclopedia published by Jehovah's Witnesses. It differs from their more voluminous Insight on the Scriptures in many ways. It is smaller, has no visual aids and contains entries on topics not directly addressed in the larger "Insight" books. The "Reasoning book" consists of 446 pages. At least 28 different Bible translations are referred to in the Reasoning book. It is designed as a quick reference work for use in the evangelizing activity of Jehovah's Witnesses, though not intended for use in debate. (Pg. 7 paragraph 3) Seventy six Doctrinal topics such as the Trinity, Apostolic succession, Abortion and Sin are discussed and scriptural and secular references are presented to support conclusions. Sections entitled "Introductions for Use in the Field Ministry" and "How You might Respond to Potential Conversation Stoppers" contain commonly used scriptural conversation starters or, in the case of negative responses, conversation salvagers. The Aid to Bible Understanding was a Bible encyclopedia published by the Jehovah's Witnesses, now out of print and superceded by the larger and more up to date Insight on the Scriptures. The 'Aid book', as it was called, has 1696 pages and contains full color maps on its end sheets and some black and white illustrations in with the text. The first volume, covering A-D, and part of E, was released on July 9, 1969, at the “Peace on Earth” International Assembly of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Members of the Jehovah's Witnesses from over 90 countries contributed research for the encyclopedia.
