SaqalibaIn the medieval Arab world, the term Saqaliba (سقالبة, sg. siqlabi) was used to refer to the Slavs, particularly including the Slavic mercenaries and slaves of Sicily and al-Andalus. They became rulers of certain of the taifa states.
