Son of Sir Robert Arbuthnot of Arrat, later 17th of Arbuthnot. Married, first, before 1639, Lady Marjorie Carnegie (died 22 December 1651), widow of William Halyburton of Pitcur and daughter of the 1st Earl of Southesk. 2 sons, 2 daus. Succeeded by Robert Arbuthnot, 2nd Viscount of Arbuthnot. |
