Snak
Snak is a modern IRC client for Macintosh written by Kent Sorensen. Versions up to 4.12 runs on both OS 9 and OS X. The name is a Danish word that means "chat". Snak supports an unlimited number of connections and channels, private chats, as well as full Direct_Client-to-Client support for filetransfers and chat. It can be scripted with AppleScript and the ircII scripting language. Snak has several features that are not found in other IRC clients including the ability for multiple panels to share the windows. A panel can contain a channel, a private message window, a list, or information about a DCC filetransfer. This results in an effective use of the screen space and improves the ability to follow multiple channels. A panel can be moved from one window to another by dragging the title bar. Snak is distributed as shareware, which means that it can be freely used and evaluated for 30 days at no charge. If you want unlimited usage you need to obtain a registration key which is $20 for a single user. After the 30-day evaluation period has ended the program will quit after 30 minutes of use if it's not paid for. Buying it will remove this limitation.
