Surakiart Sathirathai
Surakiart Sathirathai is the Foreign Minister of Thailand. Sahtirathai attended Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, then studied in the United States, earning law and economics degrees, LL.M and S.J.D, from Harvard University and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. After serving on the faculty of Chulalongkorn University, and as an economic adviser in the Thai government, In 2001, Sathirathai was named the foreign minister of Thailand. He had previously served as finance minister in 1995 and 1996. Sathirathai has been endorsed by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and reportedly has backing from both the People's Republic of China and the United States to become to the next United Nations Secretary General following the anticipated retirement of Kofi Annan in 2006.
