Sweet Tooth

Sweet Tooth

Sweet Tooth is a video game character from the Twisted Metal series of video games. An evil clown driving a combat ice cream truck, his face is featured on the cover of every Twisted Metal game.

His age is unknown and his real name is supposedly Needles Kane. He is a killer clown, complete with a severely cracked clown mask, a red nose and polka dotted pants. He has been cursed with the burden of the fires of Hell upon his head and he wants nothing more for it to be gone but he does not let it get in the way of his day to day task of randomly killing innocent people. Sweet Tooth drives the "Happy Treats" Ice Cream truck, in which he stores other "items" besides ice cream.

In some of the Twisted Metal games, the only thing known about him is that he has killed more than a dozen people. In some games, although it is never actually said but is more than obvious, Needles Kane is the son of a fellow character Charlie Kane. In Twisted Metal: Black, Needles Kane has a younger brother. In some games, Sweet Tooth is the main character, but in others he is merely a mascot, altough easily one of the most popular characters in the game.

Sweet Tooth was also a fictional character in a comic strip in the UK comic Whizzer and Chips, first appearing in January 1973. A 'Whizz-Kid' in the comic, and about a boy who has a fixation for sweets, continually hounded by Greedy Greg (originally Bully Bloggs), it joined Buster after Whizzer and Chips merged with it in 1990. It remained in the comic until the very end, a reprint by this time.

Though other artists drew strips from time to time, Trevor Metcalfe was the main artist throughout, though Jack Edward Oliver included Sweet Tooth on the last page of the final issue of Buster in January 2000, explaining that Sweet Tooth's 'sweet tooth' eventually went bad from all the sweet eating.
