S.W.T.S.W.T. appears often after the name of Allah in Islamic texts. The initials stand for the Arabic phrase subhaanahu wa ta'alaa, meaning roughly, "praised and exalted is He." Saying this phrase is seen as an act of reverence and devotion when mentioning the name of Allah, and helps to avoid becoming too casual with His name in conversation. This is similar to the abbreviation S.A.W, which often appears after the Prophet Muhammad's name. |
