Tallest buildings in the U.S.
.
The United States is home to many of the world's tallest skyscrapers. Here is a list of the country's 50 tallest structures based on their official height. Special note: Before the September 11, 2001 attacks, the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center occupied the second and third positions on the list below (Tower One, 417 m - Tower Two, 415 m). The 541 m Freedom Tower, scheduled for construction on the former World Trade Center site (aka Ground Zero), will become the tallest building in the United States upon its expected completion in 2008. However, its habitable height will be less than that of the Sears Tower, due to the inclusion of a large asymmetrical spire (an emulation of the raised arm of the Statue of Liberty).
