Ticket tracking
In customer support or software development Ticket tracking is a technique to manage inquiries. It ensures that at any time during the processing of the inquiry, the responsibilities are clear. This is done by assigning the 'ticket' to a specific person to perform a specific task and repeat this as long as the problem is not solved. Most ticket tracking systems have features to priorize and schedule tickets as they come in. Common ticket tracking systems are Perfect Tracker by Avensoft, DevTrack by TechExcel, TrackStudio by TrackStudio Ltd and the open source bugtrackers Mantis and Bugzilla.
