Tifa Lockheart
Tifa Lockheart is a playable character from Squaresoft's blockbuster RPG video game, Final Fantasy VII (1997). . At the beginning of the game, Tifa is a member of AVALANCHE -- a group of ecoterrorists based in the metropolis of Midgar. She is introduced as main character Cloud Strife's childhood friend from the small town of Nibelheim before he left for Midgar as a teenager to train for the elite military corps SOLDIER. Tifa was not merely Cloud's childhood friend; she fell in love with him while he was away trying and failing to become a first-class member of SOLDIER. Her feelings are manifested through her rigorous care for Cloud throughout the plot, particularly during his bout with Mako poisoning. She does not reveal her feelings to Cloud until the end of the world itself looms, at which point they "fall asleep together" one night, (the plot does not reveal if they had sex) and depending on whether or not you choose to show an interest in Tifa, she is either embarrassed or perfectly fine to find out that the rest of the team saw them sleeping side by side just outside the airship. Then the FF7 heroes make a final stand against archvillain Sephiroth and his ambition to bring an Armageddon to their world. . Throughout the game, Tifa's actions are directed towards both helping Cloud and remaining with him. For example, she asks Cloud to join AVALANCHE not merely because of his military experience in SOLDIER, but also to be with him again and support him after the couple's seven-year separation. When she senses something is wrong with Cloud following their reunion, she says nothing for some time out of fear that Cloud would not be able to deal with the conflicting versions of his life her story would present him with. However, when the game's plot brings him face-to-face with the contradictions between reality and his amnesic and altered memory, Tifa helps him reconcile the two. Tifa's love for Cloud may have had its genesis in Cloud's status as an orphan following the death of his mother by the sword of Sephiroth during an incident five years prior to the beginning of the game, at which time Nibelheim was burned to the ground. Tifa also appears in the fighting game Ehrgeiz, as well as the CGI movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.
