Tungsten carbide

Tungsten carbide, WC or W2C, is an alloy of tungsten and carbon similar to titanium carbide. Its extreme hardness makes it useful in the manufacture of cutting tools, abrasives and bearingss, as a cheaper alternative to diamond.
