TupinambaranaTupinambarana is a river island in the Amazon and Urarķa rivers in Amazonas, Brazil. It has an area of 11,850 km², making it one of the largest river islands in the world.The island is largely forested, and is only accessible by river or by air. It has a small mountain range, and is home to the city of Parintins, known for its cultural festival. There are also remains of a village constructed in the 1930s by Japanese settlers hoping to cultivate jute. |
