UFAC
UFAC stands for L'Union Federale d'Ancien Combattants, which can be translated as The Federal Union of Veteran Soldiers, and was created towards the end of WW1 in February 1918 by a group of war veterans. They had an estimated 1 million members out of the 6.5 million survivors of the war and were the largest of the 100 or so "clubs" for the veterans. Their main goal was to improve the morale of the veterans, and to make alliances with similar groups in Germany so that war would never happen again between the 2 countries. Their catchphrase was "der des der", a pun on the German variations on "der die das", short for "derniere des dernieres", or "the last of the last (wars)". See Also: UNC
