United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit
The United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, or simply the Federal Circuit, is a federal court with appellate jurisdiction over the United States Court of International Trade, as well as Article I tribunals such as the United States Court of Federal Claims, the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, the United States Trademark and Trial Appeal Board, and the United States Merit Systems Protection Board. It is the only United States Court of Appeals whose jurisdiction is based on subject matter rather than geographical location. It hears all appeals relating to patents from any of the United States District Courts. The court meets in Washington, DC, and occupies the National Courts Building, the Tayloe House, the former Cosmos Club, and the Dolley Madison House.
