U.S. Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, & Related Agencies
The U.S. Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture Rural Development, and Related Services is one of twelve subcommittees of the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations. This subcommittee has jurisdiction over the Department of Agriculture discretionary spending (does not include the Food Stamp Program or farming subsidies which are mandatory spending), as well as food safety programs at the Food and Drug Administration and foreign agriculture assistance programs. The subcommittee also oversees rural development programs such as loan guarantees for rural housing.
