UtelleUtelle, roughly 40 miles northeast of Nice in the Var region of France, is a village of roughly 140 permanent residents, perched on a hill along the Vesubie Gorge, not far from the Mercantour National Park in the Aloes Maritime of France. Formerly an agricultural village planted with numerous olive trees, the village is near the Madonne d'Utelle, a chapel that serves as an annual pilgrimmage site for local catholics.
