Valdosta State UniversityValdosta State University is a public university located in the city of Valdosta, Georgia in the United States, and is part of the University System of Georgia.The university was founded in 1906 as South Georgia State Normal College, becoming Georgia State Women's College in 1922. In 1950, the college begun admitting male students and changed its name to Valdosta State College. On July 1, 1993, the university took its current title when it became a Regional University in the University System of Georgia. VSU is made up of five colleges, they are; Arts & Sciences, Business Administration, Education, Arts, and Nursing as well as a Graduate School. Valdosta State University has hosted the Governor's Honors Program for the last twenty-five years. The campus covers 168 acres (680,000 m²), and the university has a student body of over 10,000 from 48 states and 50 countries. It is conveniently located off of Interstate 75. Statistics
