Vampyric black metal
Vampyric Black Metal is a subgenre of black metal that consists of more creature like vocals, and epic/gothic keyboards. While black metal deals more with the idea of blasphemy and anti-christian destruction, vampyric metal has more to do with gothic horror (ie Vampires, ruined castles, demented families, etc). The earliest form of vampyric metal came in 1996 with the release of Cradle of Filth's Dusk and Her Embrace and Cruelty and the Beast which created Cradle of Filth's vampire theme that would remain infamous with their image. They eventually changed their style around, but other bands have been picking up on the style since then. Emperor, Satyricon, and many brand new underground bands have begun seperate vampyric metal scenes.
