W (New York City Subway service)
The W Broadway Local is a service of the New York City Subway. It is colored yellow since it uses the BMT Broadway Line through midtown Manhattan. Service runs local from Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard to Whitehall Street, and only from the beginning of morning rush hour to 21:00 on weekdays. The following lines are used by the :
Service history
Before February 23, 2004, the W operated as the Brooklyn half of the during Phase II of the Manhattan Bridge Reconstruction, operating between Ditmars Boulevard, Astoria and Coney Island, in Brooklyn. Now that the construction is completed, the W becomes a part-time local service along the BMT Broadway Line.
