Wheeling is also a technique for the cold forming of sheet metal into complex shapes. This is done by repeatedly drawing the sheet between shaped rollers or wheels mounted on a stand. In skilled hands, very complex shapes such as car body panels can be formed by hand. The use of the wheel allows the metal to be shaped and stretched without creasing.
