WJCT
WJCT is a public television station serving the Jacksonville, Florida metropolitan area. Its transmitter is located in Jacksonville. Most of WJCT's programming comes from the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS); they tend not to carry programming from other sources (such as the BBC), citing costs. This, in part, is why Gainesville's WUFT has a fairly sizable viewership in Jacksonville. WJCT Television has been in operation since 1958. They also operate the local NPR station, 89.9 FM, which has been in operation since 1972.
