WOW! Children's Museum
WOW! Children’s Museum (http://www.wowmuseum.com) is an interactive museum for children ages 1 to 11, whose mission is to bring families together and teach children in the areas of arts, sciences, life, and miscellaneous, through exhibits children can play with, touch, and discover. WOW! Children’s Museum is located at 110 N. Harrison Ave., Lafayette, Colorado 80026. It was founded in 1997. The new building includes educational and dramatic play exhibits geared for children ages 1-11 years in an 8,000 square foot area. It has a separate Science Lab, Art Lab, Music Room, as well as a dance/dress-up area, theater-in-the-round, Rags to Riches Credit Union, Wild Oats market, play house, a pirate ship with reading area, an electric train, bubble and waterworks exhibits, sand castle, building tables, ball maze and traveling exhibit area. It displays artwork from local and international schools year round. It also provides monthly classes in music, French, Spanish, art and science, as well as special event performances by Boulder County and North Denver artists. It employs a science teacher who leads science programs which relate to the exhibits.
