Wumpscut
Wumpscut (:Wumpscut: or :W:) is a well known Electro-Industrial outfit. It was founded in May 1991 by Bavarian DJ Rudy Ratzinger. Wumpscut first attracted the attention of a large audience with the release of the song "Soylent Green", which is named after the 1973 movie and also contains audio samples from the German dubbed version. Since its release in 1993, it has become one of the most frequently played songs at events/clubs in the gothic subculture and its associated splinter groups (at least in Germany - the popularity in the USA appears to be quite similar). So far Ratzinger has published numerous recordings and contributions to scene compilations. Wumpscut is also very well known for elaborate box set releases (limited versions of a CD or LP release in a box with additional and often also limited bonus material (bonus tracks, liquid soylent energy drink, posters, pins, stickers, bags, flags etc.)). Ratzinger also started his own label Beton Kopf Media in 1995, which is restricted to Wumpscut releases only. In 1996 he started the label Mental Ulcer Forges where the works of other artists are released, e.g. Remyl, Noisex or F/A/V.
