ZonelabsZonelabs is a company which makes products, which protect your computer against hackers, spyware, and virus, with a powerful firewall (networking) system, which according to the company is made up of many layers for maximum protection. It has won a lot of awards.ProductsZonelabs works on a wide selection of products most of them cost money but there are two products(both are basic) which are for free. ZoneAlarmZoneAlarm is the firewall product. It comes in 5 different versions. Alerts pop-up whenever someone tries to hack into your computer, or when a program tries to access the net. You can either allow or deny access to the programs. Security settings can be changed and a "Internet" and "Trusted" zones are used, what goes to what depends on the settings you choose. A "Blocked" zone is included in paid versions, once you add something to the Blocked zone, no communication between you and it takes place ever.
The basic edition only comes with the award-winning firewall, which stops intruders from accessing your PC and makes your PC invisible to hackers. Automatic Wireless Network Detection - Instantly identifies new wireless networks for safe, point and click configuration, and automatically recognizes and secures any wireless network you've connected to before. Comprehensive Antivirus Protection - Secures your PC from viruses, worms, and other security threats, automatically updates protection from the latest virus threats, protects your PC from unknown, emerging viruses. Automatically scans for viruses and removes them. It also monitors outgoing email and halts messages with potential viruses. Also makes your computer invisable to hackers. This edition comes with Powerful Identity & Privacy Protections which - Automatically stops pop-up ads so you can surf in peace. Prevents personal data from leaving your computer without permission. Checks for and deletes adware cookies. Blocks adware cookies but allows cookies from trusted sites. Protects your privacy and improves PC performance. And best of all tracks hacker attempts and anonymously reports offenders to their ISPs. Is basically all of the above but it also has a Content & Communication Protection feature - Blocks entire categories of inappropriate and offensive web content. Encrypts instant messages so they can't be monitored. Universal protection for the most popular Instant Messaging services. Blocks IM spam, hackers, thieves and predators. Allows you to disable potentially dangerous IM features like filesharing, streaming video, and streaming audio. Prevents buffer overflows, executable URLs, and other attacks. Note that Security Suite doesn't include the wireless protection that ZoneAlarm Wireless Security gives you. IMSecureIMSecure protects your AIM, Yahoo, MSN, ICQ and it even supports universal-cilents such as Trillian, keeps your personal ID safe messages and stops virus threats. IMSecure comes in two editions basic and Pro. Pro has more security options. The basic edition just keeps IM conversations private and provides protection to vulnerable IM connections. Unfortunatly IMSecure only works if the person you are having a conversation with has IMSecure too.
